Financial adviser in Lees

Lees is a proper Pennine mill village, at its peak, eleven cotton mills worked within the old Lees Urban District, and though the spinning has long gone, the stone terraces and independent village feel remain. I'm Max Gallagher (DipPFS, CeMAP), a financial adviser with Financial Options Group, and I help people in Lees, Springhead and Grotton with their pensions, investments, mortgages and wider wealth. It's a village that sits right where Oldham ends and Saddleworth begins, and the financial questions I hear from residents tend to reflect both sides of that line.

My office is at in Walshaw, Bury (the other side of Greater Manchester) but I look after clients right across the region, so I'm happy to come out to Lees and meet you at home or somewhere handy in the village. If a Teams or phone call fits better around the commute into Manchester, that works too, and the first meeting is free either way. From there, I'll set out plainly what I'd recommend and what it would cost, you decide if and when to go ahead, with no obligation.

Who I help in Lees

  • Buying a stone terrace off the High Street, or stretching towards Springhead or Grotton for more space, and wanting the mortgage side handled properly from start to finish.
  • Sorting out a patchwork of old workplace pensions collected across years of jobs around Oldham and Manchester, so you finally know what retirement actually looks like.
  • Commuting into Manchester from the OL4 side and wanting your salary to do more than cover the bills, ISAs, investments and a plan you can actually see.
  • Thinking ahead on inheritance, family homes on the Saddleworth edge of Oldham raise estate-planning questions that are far easier to tackle early.

If your working life has been spent around Oldham (or commuting over to Manchester) you may well have several pension pots scattered across old employers, and I'll help you understand what they add up to and whether they still suit your plans for retirement in Lees.

From first mortgages on the Victorian terraces near St Thomas' Church to remortgaging as families weigh up staying in Lees or moving up the valley into Saddleworth, I'll help you find a mortgage that fits and manage the application through to completion.
